David Jacinto
joins us to chat about his book "Out of the Darkness" - based
on the true story of a nineteenth-century child coal miner rising
out of the ashes of poverty and tragedy to change the world. It’s
the story of greed, love, sacrifice, faith, and the courage to push
aside fear and jump into the refiner’s fire where the finest
qualities of character are forged.
We chat about the Industrial Revolution in the UK, real events
that occurred, mining disasters, railways, coal pollution, child
labour, child trafficking, modern slavery, immigration, electric
vehicles, Caesar's Column, and Tim Ballards Operation Underground
Railroad
In the second half we chat more about the 1800's and mining
disasters, the rights of the individual, the class society, lack of
opportunities back then, reviewing why many families came to North
America in the first place, modern COVID vaccine pressure, land
grants, importance of family and mothers, aristocracy, living off
grid, the government, homesteading and owning your own home.
